Luxury Accomodation Portrush
Skerries Master Bedroom
Overlooking the sandy expanse of East Strand beach and the Atlantic Ocean, the Skerries master bedroom has stunning views, with its double aspect creating a light and airy space. The comfortable king-size bed adds a touch of decadence to the room and is complemented by contemporary Giant’s Causeway-inspired wooden bedside tables. These are suspended on either side of the bed and have Victorian-style electric wooden hurricane lanterns sitting on top, which add further character.
This attention to detail continues in features such as wooden oars above the windows and stunning local photography on the walls. There is also ample storage space and the décor has a tranquil dove-grey and white palette, with soft carpet complemented by a stylish marbled rug.
This single aspect room comes with a luxurious king-size bed and boasts views of the historic Arcadia building – once a famous ballroom and now a thriving café. There are also beautiful sea views, including the ‘Ladies Bathing Beach,’ a popular sandy cove in front of the Arcadia which is perfect for enjoying a dip.
The Arcadia bedroom continues the soothing dove-grey and white palette of the other rooms, with the added splash of colour from sunshine-yellow soft furnishings. Again, the bed has contemporary Giant’s Causeway-inspired wooden bedside tables suspended on either side, each with its own electrical wooden hurricane lantern on top, in a Victorian style. Colourful artwork also adorns the wall above the bed, while wooden oars in one alcove of the room add further charm and character.
With sea views of the Atlantic, the Dunluce bedroom is located downstairs and is another comfortable and calming space, with a double bed and stylish décor, complete with colourful artwork and photography on the walls.
The colour palette in this room is predominantly duck-egg blue and white, with splashes of sunshine-yellow in the towels provided, while the flooring is a practical pale grey wood. This complements the wardrobe and bedside units, which each have contemporary lamps fitted with controlled bubble glass bases and modern grey shades.
Meanwhile, the attached ensuite comes complete with a walk-in shower and is decorated in pale grey and tiled throughout, providing a great additional extra, for our guests’ convenience.
Ideal for younger family members (or just those with a sense of fun!), the Whiterocks bedroom has a set of comfortable bunk beds, with a double bed at the bottom and a single on top. Overlooking the Arcadia and popular restaurant/café, 55 Degrees North, the Whiterocks room also has those beautiful sea views that Rockdene enjoys throughout.
The colour palette of this room is dove-grey, as seen on the high-quality wooden frame of the bunk beds, which boasts a sturdy ladder to the upper bunk and has two drawers for additional storage. The rest of the furniture – from Irish brand, Kinvara – is also dove-grey, with oak tops and silver knobs, complemented by midnight-blue throws for the beds, along with a midnight-blue upholstered chair and orange scatter cushions.
The contemporary family bathroom is next to this room, complete with a stand-alone bathtub and shower. Also rendered in grey and white, this gives the space a classic feel while adding further convenience to the room.
The only single bedroom at Rockdene, the Causeway room overlooks the Arcadia and Ladies Bathing Beach, along with restaurant 55 Degrees North, so guests can once again enjoy beautiful sea views. The furniture here is from Irish brand Kinvara, again in dove-grey and white, with solid oak tops and silver fittings, creating a classic and contemporary look while still complementing the overall style of the property.
Quirky features come from accessories such as the lighthouse-inspired bedside lamp, along with the framed ship and wooden ship wheel on the walls, which all continue the nautical theme of the beach house. The colour-scheme is also in a fresh nautical blue and white, with a contrasting dark grey upholstered chair and a light grey carpet.
